Meet the Co-Owner and Studio Manager of the Arthur Murray Dance Center Cincinnati, Ms. Desiree' Mainous:
Jeremy Mainous
1) What's Your Favorite Dance and Why:
Honestly, I would have to say American Tango. You see, Tango and I have a lot in common. It doesn't go on and on in fluidity and motion...she gets straight to the point and her her way. It's full of passion, drama and confidence. If anyone truly knows me, they would say that these are true qualities in me as well.

2) What Other Hobby Do You Have Outside of Dancing: Cooking! I LOVE to cook. I will sometimes play Chopped in my kitchen and see what kind of creations I can come up with, and then I make Jeremy try them...

3) Who's Your Favorite Coach and Why: That's a tough one because I have had so many and they have all impacted my dancing in some way, but if I had to choose just one, it would be Quinton MacAdam. He speaks my language, puts me in my place when I need it and works my butt off, which is the only way I like to work!

4) If You Weren't a Dance Instructor, What Do You Think You Would Do: I would probably use my education and go back to being a Paramedic. I honestly loved being in Emergency Healthcare and, yes, I would do that again.
5) What's Your Favorite Thing About Dancing: My favorite thing about dancing is that it is the one place that has seen me through every point in my life. The dance floor feels like home to me.

6) What's Your Favorite Thing About Teaching: My favorite thing about teaching is making a difference in someone's life, and I don't mean by actually teaching them how to dance. It's about taking a couple and reminding them why they fell in love with one another.
It's about instilling confidence in someone who never knew it before; it's about adding fun to someone's life; it's about saving a marriage or starting one off on the right foot; it's about so much more than teaching someone how to dance.

7) What's the Saying You Hate the Most that Student's Will Say to You on a Lesson: "Can't"...can't is a cuss word!

8) What's Been Your Favorite Moment at Arthur Murray: My favorite moment at Arthur Murray had to be the first time I stepped off the elevator as a student and into what would turn out to be meeting my husband and starting my career.

9) Who's Your Biggest Dance Idol and Why: Savion Glover. What that man did for tap dancing is just beyond words! He's like a magician with his feet!

10) If You Could Choose Only One Dance to Keep Dancing for the Rest of Your Life, Which Dance Would It Be and Why: That's a tough one and I probably shouldn't answer since I own a Ballroom Studio, but to be honest, it would be tap. There is no cooler feeling in the world than coming up with the percussion's of rhythm with just your feet.
11) What's Your Favorite Movie: Dumb and Dumber

12) What's Your Favorite Quote: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

13) If We Turned on the Music in Your Car, What Would Be Playing: Definitely not the radio. Either my phone or Pandora, but on there, you would find anything from country, to Michael, Queen, Prince, Adelle, Presidents of the United States of America, Pearl Jam, musical show tunes...probably a little bit of just about everything!

14) What's Your Favorite Book: I don't know that I have one.
15) Do You Prefer to See the Movie or Read the Book: I prefer to see the movie!.

16) What's the One show on TV That You Have Followed Since the Beginning: Law and Order: SVU - I have never missed an episode and have probably seen each one at least 20 times.

17) If You Could Have a Theme Song for Your Life, What Would It Be: "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks
18) What's More Important, First Impressions or Second Chances: Definitely, without question, first impressions. I have one of those personalities where I don't typically give second chances.

19) What's Your Favorite Song: I love music so much that this becomes difficult, but if I had to choose only one song, I would choose "Charlie Brown" by The Coasters. It was the song that my dad and I used to sing over and over again when I was a kid.

20) If You Could Choose Any Person, Dead or Alive, To Have Dinner With, Who Would It Be and Why: Eric...I have so many things I never got to say and I want to know if he's proud of me.
21) If You Could Bring Back One Person and/or Band to See Live in Concert, Who Would It Be and Why: Freddie Mercury...No one can sing like that man!

22) If You Are Going to Dance an All-Around with Your Student, Would You Wear Smooth Shoes or Rhythm Shoes: Rhythm

23) What's Your Drink of Choice: Anyone who knows me even a little would know the answer to that...Coca Cola.

24) What's Been Your Favorite Venue to Dance In: Anything that has an actual stage for me to dance on.
25) What's Been Your Favorite Moment on Any Dance Floor and Why: May of 2006 at The Phoenix for a Showcase...that's where Jeremy and I were dancing our Tango for the professional show and at the end, as I turned around to him for us to bow, he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand...obviously, I said Yes!
